Teacher Jie Yi holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours) in Contemporary Music (Audio Technology) from Sunway University (2026) and is a certified Trinity Grade 8 Violin Teacher. With both performance and contemporary music training, he brings a balanced approach that combines strong fundamentals with enjoyable, modern learning experiences.
His achievements include multiple awards in international music competitions, such as the Bronze Award at the 5th Hong Kong International Music Festival (Youth Violin Category), Bronze Award in the Malaysia District Preliminary of the 6th Hong Kong International Music Festival 2019, Silver Award at the Malaysia Institute of Art Young Musician Competition, Gold Awards at the Red Sonata Fiesta International Arts Festival in both 2021 and 2023, and a Platinum Award in the String Solo Category at the 2023 International Virtual Festival (AGMS).
Teacher Jie Yi believes students learn best when violin lessons are connected to music they genuinely enjoy. His violin classes approaches with relevant songs to naturally develop new techniques while staying motivated and engaged. While he values exam pieces and scales for building a strong foundation, she also believes students should experience the joy of learning through songs they love.
