Yan Qi

Yan Qi is a versatile pianist who can sing and play the piano well. She has been teaching music for nearly 10 years. She graduated with a performance diploma (ATCL) from Trinity College London in 2019.

She emphasizes joyful music lessons rather than stress because she believes not everyone starts with the aim of becoming a professional musician; some just want to play their favorite songs for leisure, such as singing and playing, which isn't included in any examination system. She does, however, leverage the examination system to improve the overall musicality of students who want to become serious later on.

Yan Qi believes that students should focus on expressing themselves through music rather than just becoming score-reading and theory machines, as traditional methods often promote. Leveraging the opportunities provided at Musician Story, she also develops every student’s interest and capability in music through a variety of opportunities such as live performances, public showcases, competitions, and YouTube covers.
