Yan Tao

Yan Tao has taught piano for over 6 years. She holds a diploma in music teaching and concert piano from SEGI College, and a Performance Diploma (ATCL) from Trinity College London, obtained in 2019. She has conducted several performances for SEGI College music students and has had students win competitions. She teaches a wide age range, from 4-year-old children to retired adults.

Yan Tao emphasizes that music is not just about reading and playing notes; it involves feelings, passions, imagination, and emotions. She believes that to teach students to express themselves effectively, they must incorporate all the details of a song and convey its emotions without words. Her teaching is not limited to classical songs; she constructs customized lesson plans that allow students to perform songs they like, including pop songs and others. This approach helps students learn practically, play by ear, read chords on the spot, and sing while playing.
